An award-winning writer/performer, director, arts educator, and queer cultural leader, Evalyn served as Artistic Director of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in T’karonto from 2015 to 2020. Driven by her curiosity about the ways in which art leads and influences culture, Evalyn's recent MA in Cultural Studies reflects on her leadership chapter at Buddies, exploring connections between arts leadership, creative practice, decolonial futures and systems change.
She has a deep interest in leadership and governance structures that challenge traditional hierarchies, both inside and outside of the arts sector, and her work as both artist and leader reflects her lifelong interest in embodiment, collaboration and collectivity.
